Dogs Unknown Facts

1) A puppy is born sightless, deaf, and toothless.

2) If a dog suddenly pricks up its ears and becomes alert for no apparent reason, he might have detected bat or rodent sounds that are not heard by us.

3) The dog's genitourinary tract will not function without the stimulation that comes from frequent licking.

4) Dogs often hesitate before going out in the rain. It's not because they're afraid of getting wet, but because the rain amplifies sound and hurts their sensitive ears.

5) Dog’s have unique nose prints used also to identify them. They have lines forming patterns just like we do in our fingers. This proof of dog identity has been accepted by the Canadian Kennel Club since 1938.

6) A dog's nose works 1 million times more efficiently than the human nose.

7) A person standing still 300 yards away is almost invisible to a dog. But a dog can easily identify its owner standing a mile away if the owner is waving his arms.

8) Dogs only have sweat glands on their feet, dogs cannot lose heat rapidly by perspiring from head to toe like people do. Instead the dogs sweat by panting, which removes body heat by evaporation from the surface of the tongue. Dogs also pant when they are nervous or excited.

9) lovingly handled dog is a healthier dog. The touch of the human hand improves the functions of virtually all the sustaining systems: respiratory, circulatory, digestive and so on.

10) Barking dogs is often an alarm. Its purpose is to let people as well as other dogs know that something, whether that be an approaching intruder or a stray, is trying to protect his territory.

11) In the wild, barking dogs tells puppies to take cover and hide, and also alerts the other dogs in the pack to assemble for action. An out and out attack by a dog however, is silent. Dogs also bark when they are bored, anxious or excited. Sometimes the reason could be if they are hot, cold or hungry.

12) If you love dogs, but hate the sound of barking, a possible solution is a basenji dog from the Congo, This dog is a breed of dog that does not bark, but instead make a yodel-like sound.

13) In Russia, a team of doctors and scientists conducted 1,278 telepathic experiments with dogs, of which 696 were successful. Most of the experiments involved testing the dog's ability to read unspoken commands. The research team concluded that some ESP factor must be at work.

14) The relationship between man and his dog is a special one. It is no wonder, then that more and more healthcare practitioners are recommending that their patients adopt a dog to help them through periods of illness. There are many instances on record that describes how the companionship of a loyal, loving pet has helped ailing people to get better.

15) A scared dog puts his tail between his legs because it cuts off the sent glands in its anal region, a very vulnerable part of the anatomy. Since the anal glands carry personal scents that identify the individual dogs, the tail between the legs action is the dogs equivalent of insecure humans hiding their faces.

16) Dogs love to chew on bones. It strengthens and cleans their teeth. But never give your dog poultry bones. They are soft and could be swallowed whole and splinter inside the dog's stomach.

17) When they urinate against a tree or a wall they’re marking the territory and saying to other dogs “ Hey, I am the leader here, and I’m this tall, so don’t mess with me”. They always try to aim higher to appear bigger to other dogs.

18) Dogs like sweets a lot more than cats do. While cats have around only 473 taste buds, dogs have about 1,700 taste buds. Humans have approximately 9,000.

19) Dogs and humans have been living side-by-side for about 15,000 years

20) If you have cancer, diabetes, or epilepsy, your dog might be the first to know. Studies have shown that dogs can be trained to sniff out cancers of the lung, breast, skin, bladder and prostate.

21) Border collies are the top dogs in the intelligence category, with some in the breed capable of understanding up to 200 words.

22) dogs saw other dogs getting treats for a trick they'd been performing unrewarded, the unrewarded dogs became agitated, scratching themselves and avoiding the gaze of the rewarded dogs. They also stopped doing the trick much faster than if they were alone and not getting a reward.

23) Dogs have three eyelids. The third lid, called a nictitating membrane or “haw,” keeps the eye lubricated and protected.

24) The first dogs were self-domesticated wolves which, at least 12,000 years ago, became attracted to the first cities of permanent human habitation.

25) A person should never kick a dog facing him or her. Some dogs can bite 10 times before a human can respond.

Smoking facts

Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body and diminishes a person’s overall health. Millions of People have health problems caused by smoking. Here are some interesting facts on smokes

#  Most traded item on the earth are Cigarettes with approximately 1 trillion being sold from country to country each year. At a worldwide take of more than $400 billion.

# Scientists claim the average smoker will lose 14 years of their life.

# Harvard University and the Massachusetts Health Department revealed that between 1997 and 2005 the amount of nicotine in Camel, Newport, and Doral cigarettes may have increased by as much as 11 percent.

# US President Nixon signed the law that placed warning labels on cigarettes In 1970 and banned television advertisements for cigarettes.

# U.S. cigarette manufacturers now make more money through exports than they do selling to Americans.

# Marlboro, Kool, Camel and Kent own roughly 70% of the global cigarette market.

# Cigarettes contain Arsenic, Formaldehyde, Lead, Hydrogen cyanide, Nitrogen oxide, Carbon monoxide, Ammonia and 43 known carcinogens.

# Urea,  is used to add “flavor” to cigarettes.

# Cork Tip filter was made-up in 1925 by Hungarian Boris Aivaz, who patented the procedure of making the cigarette filter from crepe paper. All kinds of filters were tested, although cork  is not likely to have been one of them.

# The legal age for the purchase of tobacco products is now 18, raised from 16, In most countries, In Japan minimum age is 20.

# Smoking bans in public places by many countries. As a result, many social businesses have claimed a significant drop in the number of people who go out to pubs, bars and restaurants.

# Highest percentage of smokers in US are from Kentucky (28.7%), Indiana (27.3%), and Tennessee (26.8%), while the states with the fewest are Utah (11.5%), California ( 15.2%), and Connecticut (16.5%).

# Cigarettes can contain more than 4,000 ingredients, which, when burned can also produce over 200 ‘compound’ chemicals. Many of these ‘compounds’ have been linked to lung damage.

# Nicotine reaches the brain within 10 seconds after smoke is inhaled. It has been found in every part of the body and in breast milk.

# Sugar attacks approximately 20% of smokers, and many diabetics are unaware of this secret sugar intake. Also, the effect of burning sugar is unknown.

# The immune systems of smokers has to work harder every day than non-smokers. As a result, a smokers’ blood will contain less antioxidants, although a smokers immune system may be quicker to respond to virus attacks due to its more active nature.

19. ‘Lite’ cigarettes are produced by infusing tobacco with CO2 and superheating it until the tobacco ‘puffs up’ like expanding foam. The expanded tobacco then fills the same paper tube as ‘regular’ tobacco.

# ‘Lite’ cigarettes are manufactured with air holes around the filter to ventilate the smoke as it is drawn in. Many smokers have learned to cover these holes with their fingers or their lips to get a stronger hit.

# Smokers draw more tar on ‘lite’ and menthol cigarettes than regular cigarettes.

# Smokers often smoke after meals to ‘allow food to digest easier’. In fact, this works because the bodies priority moves away from the digestion of food in favor of protecting the blood cells and flushing toxins from the brain.

# A number of people (generally males) can be aroused by the sight of smoker smoking (usually females). This is called the Smoking Fetish, the reason for this arousal can usually be traced back to incidents in childhood. However, cigarettes – particularly menthols, force blood away from the penis if smoked while aroused.

# According to WHO, approximately 25% of cigarettes sold around the globe are smuggled.

# Toppings are added to the tobacco for  unique taste . Some of these toppings have included; clove, licorice, orange oil, apricot stone, lime oil, lavender oil, dill seed oil, cocoa, carrot oil, mace oil, myrrh, beet juice, bay leaf, oak, rum, vanilla, and vinegar.

#  Most smokers take up the habit in their mid teens, well before the legal age for purchasing them, and is seen as a passage towards adulthood. Other perceived rights of passage include: aftershave, wearing stilettos, alcohol, drugs and sexual intercourse; with a combination of these sometimes being cited as the main causes of teenage pregnancy.

#  Smokers usually report a variety of after-effects; such as stillness, leisure, attentiveness, stimulation, attentiveness and many others. In fact, smoking will produce a different consequences in each individual depending on what they anticipate to get; turning the cigarette into the worlds most popular placebo (satisfying the brains hunger for nicotine being the only ‘relaxing’ factor). The smoker will then use these potential as a means to maintain the habit.

#  Nicotine in a cigarette is many times more potent than that of a tobacco plant.

If pregnant woman smokes, lower the amount of oxygen available to her and growing baby, that increase baby's heart rate. And the chances of miscarriage and stillbirth, Increase the risk that baby is born prematurely and/or born with low birth weight. Increase the risk of developing respiratory (lung) problems in baby. The more cigarettes smoke per day, the greater the baby's chances of developing these and other health problems. There is no "safe" level of smoking while pregnant.

# Tobacco kills up to half of its users.
Tobacco kills nearly six million people each year, of whom more than 5 million are users and ex users and more than 600 000 are nonsmokers exposed to second-hand smoke. Unless urgent action is taken, the annual death toll could rise to more than eight million by 2030.

2012 Doomsday Theories Failed

Remember when the world was going to end in 1994? What about 1998? Or 2000 ,2012 ?
Doomsayers always warn that the world is going to end, and they never got anything wrong. These days, 2012's the trendiest day for end-of-world prophecies. Specifically, it's Dec. 21, 2012.Believe it if you want. One thing is obvious: Nostradamus himself wrote that his prophecies only went as far forward as the year 3797. Does that mean the world will end late in the 38th century? Only time will tell. Let’s have a glance at some of the Doomsday Theories which are going to be failed

 Catastrophic Planetary Alignments

There are no odd planetary alignments in 2012, same planetary conjunctions, that happen all the time. Some said that Saturn and Jupiter will align, causing gravitational anomalies powerful enough to affect the Sun. However, if you remember anything from geometry class, you may recall that a line can be defined by any two points in space, which is to say that any two planets can be considered, aligned at any time. The proper term is conjunction, where two or more planets are within a few degrees of each other from a third vantage point. Nevertheless, Saturn and Jupiter will not be in conjunction in 2012.

 Asteroids

There are no recognized large asteroids that are going to impact Earth in 2012. From the beginning of the earth there are many asteroid impacts earth with no damage, because of size. Large asteroids are much more likely to be found by the thousands of professional astronomers who watch the skies every day, and none have been identified as being a threat. Few large asteroids that will make relatively close passes to the Earth in 2012, that’s roughly 4,300,000 miles away from earth so no chance of collision.

Planet X

Some claim that a strange Planet X also called as Nibiru  is on a collision route with Earth. Same as the asteroid theory. The fact is that if such a thing existed, thousands of people would have seen it a long time ago. David Morrison, senior scientist with the NASA Astrobiology Institute has to say about it: “If there were a planet or a brown dwarf or whatever that was going to be in the inner solar system at the time, astronomers would have been studying it for the past decade and it would be visible to the naked eye by now. It’s not there.”

 Earthquakes

2012 Doomsayers also put forward that gravitational shifts in our solar system could cause destructive seismic upheavals that will restructure the face of the earth forever. But it doesn’t hold much water scientifically speaking, mainly due to the fact that the Moon is the primary gravitational influence on the Earth by far. Though it is relatively small and light, it is closer to the Earth than any other object in our solar system, making its effects most significant. Other planets are just too far away and too small to cause any noticeable effects. And since the Moon hasn’t turned our planet inside out in at least the last couple billion years, most scientists agree that there’s no reason to think that it will do so anytime soon.

 Yellowstone Super-volcano

Yellowstone is at present an active geological region, with small earthquakes happening all the time. Seismic activity is ordinary undermining the claims of many 2012 hoaxers, who say that it is a sign of an imminent super-eruption. on the other hand, most geologists agree that at the time of the last super-eruption, the uplift was an estimated hundreds of meters, if not kilometers.

 Solar Flares

Solar flares have been made well-known in recent years regardless of being a very common and harmless occurrence. While it is true that the number of flares and sunspots varies over time in an 11 year cycle, recent studies show that ‘Solar Max’ is not due to happen until sometime in 2013. And most reputable scientists agree that when it does, it will be as uneventful as it was in 2002. In fact, there is no evidence whatsoever that our sun can even produce a life-ending solar flare. So far, no such thing has been observed.

 Magnetic Pole Reversal

Earth’s magnetic field is currently turn down. However, Magnetic Pole Reversals take hundreds, possibly even thousands of years to occur. They do not just flip-flop overnight. Moreover, there is no confirmation that a pole reversal is going to happen anytime soon, that is, within the next few years. It is possible that we are in the earliest stages of one now, but that is mere rumor at this position. Either way, it has nothing to do with the year 2012.

 Supernovas

A recent press release  issued at the American Astronomical Society meeting in January 2010 -discussed the possibility that the recurrent nova (T Pyxidis) might be due to become a supernova. Some points within the report is very misleading, causing a great deal of confusion and immature headlines, and thereby adding fuel to the 2012 fire. The press release suggests that T Pyxidis is close enough to the Earth that if it were to become a supernova, the Earth would be fried by the waves of gamma radiation. However, it is now well acknowledged that the particular astronomer whose work was cited simply got his numbers wrong. Eventually astronomical community said, Supernova would have to be within 25 light years to have such an effect, and T Pyxidis is over 3000 light years away.  Conclusion T Pyxidis is simply just not close enough to cause the damage implied by the press release.

 Black Hole Sun

It’s same like one of those irritating “alignment”-based myths, only feasible to those who don’t mind to know the facts. It suggests that the central black hole of our galaxy is somehow going to destroy the Earth when it falls in line with the Sun and other planets. The problem is, the closest so-called “galactic alignment” already happened in 1998. Also, the black hole at the center of our galaxy is at least 26,000 light years away, which means it has very little gravitational affect on the Earth. In fact, the gravitational pull of the Sun is about 560,000,000,000 times stronger.

 Mayan Doomsday Prophecy

First and foremost thing is Mayan calendar doesn’t end in 2012, in spite of countless claims to the contrary. the majority Archeologists have the same opinion that the  ancient  people never forecast this year as the last part of the world. In the Mayan calendar – 1,872,000 days or 5,125.37 years – overturns, and a new phase starts, said by Anthony Aveni , who is a Maya expert and  archeoastronomer  from New York.
Mayans believed that the first light of our existing creation began in August 11, 3114 B.C, and they recorded this date as Day Zero. This December, the epoch will move toward to an end. The complex, persistent calendar will roll over again to Day Zero, launching another long cycle, just as it has before.

Famous Popes who killed by People

Bishop of Rome and the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church is call POPE. The office of the pope is known as the papacy, small number of wicked pope also ruled the church in olden times, but in contrast there have been many great ones Pope Saint Gregory the Great, who gave us the present calendar. In the History of papacy there was a great bloodshed. Let’s start from first POPE of the Catholic Church.

Pope St Peter
13 October 64 A.D.

First Pope was original apostle of Jesus Christ, known to be Key holder of Catholic Church, and one of the greatest purveyors of Christianity. Peter became the ire of Emperor Nero of Rome who despised Christians. An order was sent out by Nero for Peter’s arrest,  According to the 1911 Catholic Encyclopedia, St. Peter labored in Rome during the last portion of his life, and there ended his life by martyrdom.  Peter was crucified at Rome with his head downwards, as he himself had desired to suffer. This is why an upside down cross is generally accepted as a symbol of Peter, who would not have considered himself worthy enough to die the same way as his Savior.

Pope St Clement I
99 A.D.

After being banished from Rome, Clement I sent to work in a stone quarry, Clement found that his fellow prisoners were suffering from lack of water. After kneeling to pray, he saw a lamb on a hill. He took a pickaxe and struck the ground where the lamb stood, and a stream of water came gushing out. This miracle resulted in the conversion of large numbers of the local pagans and his fellow prisoners to Christianity.. As punishment by the guards, an anchor was tied around Clements neck and he was thrown into the Black Sea.

Pope St Stephen I
2 August 257

Stephen was only Pope for three years, but was loaded by debate both within the church, and from outside forces. Within the church, the debate roared on over the subject of re baptism of lapsed Catholics and the like. Outside the church, though, Emperor Valerian– who had once been an ally of Christians, but later turned away from them– issued two edicts of persecution against the church. Stephen was sitting in his throne, celebrating Mass, when the emperor’s men stormed the room and beheaded Stephen where he sat. The blood-stained throne was preserved by the church until the 18th century.

Pope St Sixtus II
6 August 258

After Stephen I was killed, Sixtus II was elected as the new Pope. During this time, Emperor Valerian had made a mandate that all Christians were strictly to participate in ceremonies honoring the Roman Gods, largely to avoid conflict with the government. As Pope, though, Sixtus was able to avoid this. Unfortunately, not long after the first decree, Valerian sent out another which condemned Christians priests, bishops, and deacons to death. While giving a sermon, Sixtus II was captured by the emperor’s men and put to death by beheading– the first victim of the infamous 258 Persecutions.

Pope John VIII
16 December 882

Some consider him one of the greatest Popes of his times, and others argue otherwise; but neither would disagree that his time was spoiled by political deception. It was only a matter of time before he himself would become the victim of this. There is some speculation as to whether it was a coordinated assassination, or simply done out of jealousy of the churches treasures; but one evening a relative of John VIII visited the Pope, and poisoned his drink. Finding that the poison did not work quickly enough, the relative bashed in John’s head in with a hammer.

Pope Stephen VII
August 897

The thing Pope Stephen VII is most famous for is not any particular decree, or acts of benevolence, but rather for putting a corpse on trial. Specifically, his predecessor, Pope Formosus, was put to trial in what would become known as the Cadaver Synod. Upon finding dead Pope Formosus guilty of all charges, Stephen VII had him stripped of his papal vestments, three fingers removed from his right hand, his body thrown into the Tiber river, and all the former Pope’s laws and ordinations annulled. Sadly for Stephen VII, the trial caused frenzy and he was imprisoned, and later put to death by strangling.

Pope Benedict VI
June 974

It seems Benedict VI never did a whole lot himself, and yet he was intended to suffer for the transgressions of his predecessor, Pope John XIII, who during his time as Pope made several enemies amongst the nobility in Europe. John at one point was captured and exiled, yet managed to return and had several of his enemies hung for their parts in his exile. John went on to die a natural death, but unfortunately Benedict was not as fortunate. Only a year and a half after being elected Pope, a priest named Crescentius I– brother of the late Pope John XIII– was ordered to capture, and later throttle Benedict VI to death.

Pope John XXI
18 August 1277

Pope for only a very short eight months, John XXI was also a practicing physician and a prolific writer, writing on subjects such as logic, philosophy and medicine. It seems a fitting tribute then that John XXI would be immortalized in Dante’s classic epic poem, the Divine Comedy (La Divina Commedia). He is actually the only Pope shown to live in Paradise. But to get to paradise, John XXI met with an unfortunate accident. Shortly after a new wing was added to his Palace in Viterbo, Italy, a section of the poorly constructed roof collapsed in on him while he was asleep in his bed. He died of his injuries eight days later.
